Win Lunch with Curt!

in

Curt and his management have donated a lunch with him (for the winner and up to three guests) to benefit Vintage Hollywood Foundation. The lunch will take place in the Los Angeles area, at a time and place to be mutually agreed with Curt, who will also throw in a personally autographed CD for the winner.

The auction closes on June 10. To find out more and/or bid on the lunch, visit http://www.charityfolks.com/cfauctions/auction_bid.asp?auctionid=16409&c...

Too bad they don't accept IOU'S!!! Man, I keep missing good stuff. Maybe we will be able to catch something else since this was not meant to be ours. We'll have to wait for our time but this is really cool of curt to donate his time for things like this. We are very lucky to be his KOOKS. (I will hide this from Alexis because she would try to bid.)

Thanks so much for the back story on the trousers, Karen! What an awesome ebay auction for a great cause! Wow, I can't imagine owning something that one of them wore! oowww!

Wow, no bids. What gives? Heck, I would have traded the sacred trousers for a lunch with Curt. No wait, I already gave them away to another die hard TFF fan.

So now what Curt? Does the auction go back up again? Or pass on the whole lunch idea?

Edit: I clicked back on the link and found that the auction has been extended a few more days. Cool. :-)

No, they were Curt's. It was a eBay auction for the Grammy Foundation and MusiCares Foundation.

Tears For Fears SIGNED & Worn Blue Jeans & CD Single - Benefits The GRAMMY Foundation & MusiCares
Foundation. 47th Grammy Awards Charity Auction on Ebay (Ends Feb-17, 2005 - 16:45:06 PST)

"These blue jeans were autographed by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith of pop rock group Tears For Fears.
The jeans were worn for a promotional photo shoot and are accompanied by a CD single of the group's
Closest Thing To Heaven. The CD's cardboard sleeve is also autographed by Orzabal and Smith."

It was time to pay it forward and give them to a fellow TFF fan. :-)

Did these "sacred trousers" once grace the lovely frame of one Roland Orzabal? How did one obtain this!!!???!!! Please do share :)

Wish I could do it Curt! It is out of my league, especially after all of my summer concert ticket purchases : - D Good luck to the winner. I hope you get some good bids !!!

Wishing you the best with all your fundraising efforts.

Thanks for the update, Papa S.! :) It sounds great.

Hi Kate - No, Vintage Hollywood Foundation is completely separate from Gungi. (Gungi is and will remain a key priority for Curt.) Curt donated this same lunch to Vintage Hollywood last year and it's completely coincidental that that they put the auction up now (instead of in the fall, which is when they put it up last year).

Whew! Out of my league! Not that lunch with Curt wouldn't be worth it...tuition bills have to come first!

Hope you raise everything you need and more!

Vintage Hollywood Foundation doesn't have anything to do w/ Gungi, does it?
