I think the interviewer was either eating lunch or mast.....ing at the time, either way it was a little off-putting. At that point I had two choices, hang up or make my side sound good. I chose the latter and talked through the indecipherable squelching noises I could hear on my end of the phone :)

What was up with that Interviewer!!!! I agree with Suzanne, the interviewer was not paying attention to your answers. Loved listening to your voice again!! Thanks for explaining the meaning behind "Addict".

I completely agree with Donna's comment below. The interviewer seemed bored, and did not follow up with any questions. After Curt responded to a question he would say in a distracted manner "uh huh" or "yes" as if he were in the middle of sending a text message at the same time. I was left with more questions than answers after the interview.
I am intrigued with the song, "Coming Out" as well.

OK so the interviewer sounded downright bored! Shame on him! Other than that, great interview. I agree if he had actually been paying attention to your answers, he might have actually have followed up on your comments here and there. But, as usual, it's lovely to listen to your voice, Papa Smith!

I listened to the interview again and I recall Billy Joel being a big fan of TFF and The Seeds Of Love album at some point and also Paul Mccartney using Chris Hughes to produce some songs for him years ago for one of his solo albums.Billy Joel is one of my favorite artists and The Seeds Of Love was a huge surprise for me when I ran out and bought the c.d.because to me TFF were always years ahead of the other groups out there on the 1st 2 albums and then the 3rd had a different sound and I loved the 1st single but after that even though Oleta Adams had a great voice I couldn't relate to Woman In Chains or the feel of the record , I wanted to hear more vocals from Curt especially whom sang on most songs solo or with Roland as a duo before that time period that were great and in my opinion on the Hurting and Songs From The Big Chair they both were lightning in a bottle, the two of them.Everybody Loves A Happy Ending is a better album than The Seeds Of Love on several fronts and I can't wait for the next Tff record after Curts great new album which I love that isn't a Beatle's or 60's-70's themed record.
As usual, a thoughtful and insightful interview, though I would loved the interviewer to actually follow up some of the questions. You've gone into detail before on the track "Halfway, Pleased" being about your relationship with your mother. Rarely, however, have you mentioned your father...Can you provide a bit more insight regarding "Coming Out", and your father?

Though easy it may seem, may we always dare to dream.
Interesting comments on 911 and Perfect Day .I have listened to the excellant new album several times and can now at this point really name 4 standout tracks I love 1.Seven Of Sundays-acoustic is a brilliant version of this song and I like it more than any song on the album which is saying alot , how about a single release and video for this version Curt ? Coming Out both versions are standouts and remind me of a shy close childhood friend that revealed he was gay as an adult and how his police officer father abandoned him and most of his longtime friends 3.Two is a perfect song 4.Cover me I never get tired of listening too ---Kent

Oh, I agree, I think it was a good interview, I enjoyed it immensely! But all the credit for that goes to Curt. The dude interviewing him was marginal, at best.
