Greatest Divide
From release: halfway, pleased
By Curt Smith and Charlton Pettus
Keeps a careful house
In his carefree heart filled minefield
Keeps a careful tongue
In his care filled headstrong
I feel like I'm backing down
I'm riding shotgun into
The greatest divide
The hardest act to follow
With nowhere to hide
She's cutting me down the middle
Try to make it stop
Try to break it into pieces
Try to shake it off
I'm broken in completely
I'm taken down
I'm riding shotgun into
The greatest divide……….

PS... I just heard the song and it is a great reminder to understand what a guy is saying insdie. If you listen to it... I mean for real. The words stick. That's a good thing. :0)
ugh... the pain, but sweet... I'm convicted. I'm gonna hug my hubby when he gets home.
This is a GREAT song!!! Because I listen to a lot of guys and they tell me about their relationships. And how we as women are not aware of the power that we truely have.
Exspecially, when we have the man's heart. While dating my boyfriend (now hubby) I broke up with him. We did so much together at the time. Where I was, he was... He looked sooo sad and hurt. A few friends asked me why I broke with him. I told them and they in turn told him. He started to work on what I shared. Wow!!
A really good friend said this to me... "You can make or break a man, because his love runs deeper than you know... once he lets himself love a woman".
The song is exactlly what I have heard men say... So it is best that a man really say it in this song. Cool huh?
On my frig I have a saying that i made " Today I will honor my husband" nuff said.
The title says it all. who hasnt felt that way about someone they know or love. The song is bouncy and jolly. It kinda makes light of an inner feeling you may not want to share with the person whose cutting you down the middle. For example: I was walkin with my girlfriend and she wanted me to quick walk and becuase i didnt, she turned into my mother.Oh yeah she was cutting me down the middle that day!

I REALLY, REALLY LOVE THIS SONG, my favorite on the album! I could listen to it ALL DAY LONG..a beautiful song to go with Curt's sweet, soft and soothing voice.
