In Halfway Pleased, the single, I believe I'm hearing 'What is it? What is it Mama?', and after those words, I think it's 'Where are you?' she's asking? Was there something significant about that moment she was talking for you to add it to the song? Or is it coincidence or accident that she happened to be talking nearby?
That's exactly what you are hearing. It's actually Georgica (Charlton's daughter). We were recording grand piano in Charlton's living room and it happened by accident. As the song is about my mother it was quite poignant and sad, so I left it there.
