I love reading your blogs and the many responses to them. I would reply more often, but they often get long and rather jumbled. Have you considered putting a message board on your site, for Kooks to start their own topics and talk together in a more streamlined manner?

The Dodgers blew it of course, but no - I'm not a very big baseball fan.

I feel rather like a git for asking this question (which you may not even know/remember the answer to) but here goes. What exactly was being said throughout the introduction of "Premature Baby" by Graduate? I don't really expect you to be able to remember something so trivial that happened about 30 years ago, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. By the way I love the laugh in that song also, and all of your solo work (especially), your work with Tears for Fears, and also Roland's solo work, basically the whole Tears for Fears "universe". If you get around to this one, thanks for your time. Oh, and please don't ever stop, or at least not anytime in the near future.

I answer as much as I can. Paris is of course my favorite but I love Avignon and Juan-les-Pins also.

Though throughout your career you have handled the production duties quite well by yourselves, was there/is there ever a chance you would consider doing a TFF and/or solo project with, say, someone like Brian Eno? Or Rick Rubin?

Brian Eno would be interesting, Rick Rubin not so much.

An odd question I know, but what do you think of the Pipe Organ as an instrument?

I do love a large organ (piped or otherwise).

Question: Do you know what happend to the Little Boy on the cover of "The Hurting" album - whats he doing now etc ? i wonder if he knows how famous he was/is??

He was a neighbor of mine called Gebhart (Gebby). I don't know what he's up to now but he was always aware of the album sleeve.

How did you get the scar between your eyes?

The scar between my eyes came from speeding downhill on a tricycle when I was three or four and having an argument with a brick wall. The wall won.

I love to write. I'm also helping a friend with a musical and another
with a TV pilot.

What does 'egg to the zone' mean?

Egg Zone came from Diva (my daughter) - normally we always say XOXO (kisses and hugs) at the end of a phone call, then one day she morphed it into Egg Zone which she found highly amusing.

Can you speak French at all?


I'm embarrassed to say no - although I do normally understand a fair amount.

Did you really get in all sorts of fights when you were a kid, and over what?


I suppose I got into my fair share of fights, it was the product of teenage angst mixed with living on a council estate (the projects). Nothing too serious though

Was your house really haunted, and was that Combe Royal?


My house was haunted but it was in North Wraxall in Wiltshire, before I moved into Bath.

Was your nickname ever 'Smig'? Or was that just a typo in a mag?


Smigger - but I'm only ever called that by my one Liverpudlian friend, Smigger is a nickname given to a Smith in Liverpool, he's a Jones therefore "Jonah".

Do you ever miss Bath?


Not particularly. Don't get me wrong, I love the look and atmosphere of Bath, it was just very uncomfortable being "famous" in such a small place. I value my privacy too much.

What was your 1st car?


A mini.

What's your biggest peeve?


Tardiness.).

10 years old in the bushes with Fiona.

What three people would you NEVER want to be stranded on a desert island with?

An egotist, a narcissist and a psychopath (major brownie points for anyone who can concoct a "walked in a bar" joke around that).
