what a great show, i think we all wanted TFF to headline!
.. home to play scenes from the big chair DVD to fill in the gaps.

I bought tix as a birthday present for my sis' birthday, We're all big fans however we were way late and missed the first half of TFF, I was crushed!! I brooded for 2 days until it dawned on me they still had one more date in Brisbane, so I didn't have to even try convince my bro to go again and this time took along one of your youngest fans, my 13 yr old son. Off we went to Brisbane to go see you guys again. You guys were soo amazing plus as it was said before everywhere I went in Rod Laver Arena most people were buying the TFF merchandise and thanks so much for actually signing the posters!!!

We just caught TFF in Melbourne after a wait of 25 years ! But dare we say you were worth the wait. Check out our review @ http://www.qtrax.net.au/tears-for-fears-were-gold-live

what a great recap of his evening. To see one of your favorite bands finally perform together after all these years and have their voices still be so amazing and looking good, what more can you ask. I like the way they're doing the intro with MW and into EWTRTW. Sometimes song choice as the intro really sets the pace for a great concert and that was a great decision to set it up that way with that version of MW segueing into EWTRTW..

Just read this e mail from the TFF yahoo groups fan page.....just too good not to have repeated here, I do hope Andy does not mind. I honestly thought this was a woman writing until he said he's "a 40 year old guy". I know exactly how he felt, and can really feel his love in this letter.
...........................................................................................
Hi everyone :-)

Well I've had two nights to recover and gather my thoughts since I saw TFF at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena.
For many of you (most of you?) who have already seen Tears For Fears live before, this all may seem a little melodramatic, but I just want to share with you what it was like to FINALLY see the boys live after a 25 years wait. If you have ever had to wait for ANYTHING for 25 years, you'll know how this feels :-)
Had bought premium tickets one for me and one for my best friend who likes them also but not quite with the same intensity as me! We got to the venue and had a look at the merchandise stalls and whilst there everybody in front of us was buying TFF items. (They were supporting Spandau Ballet here, so not headlining unfortunately)
My friend bought two TFF t-shirts, one for her and one for me, plus I bought a special Aussie Tour guitar pick and a signed tour poster. REALLY signed! Not just copy signed, impressive!
The lady selling the merchandise said it was unheard of for the support band to be outselling the main act, but that's exactly what was happening!! YES! the night was off to a good start.
We got changed into our t-shirts of course and made our way to our seats, which as the night panned out were barely needed. The venue, with a capacity of about 10,000 was near full.
About 5 minutes before the boys came on I got really nervous, hoping they would indeed live up to my expectations after waiting to see them play live for so many years. I needn't have worried.
They absolutely stole the show.
I couldn't believe how many fans were there just to see them, the place ERUPTED when from the darkness a spotlight hit Curt as he started to sing Mad World. I was cheering, singing...clapping... just in a state of total and utter excitement. I'm a 40 year old guy and I was like a little kid again!
The abridged version of this classic closed and the lights went down again for a split second and I then thought the roof was going to be lifted off the stadium when the intro to EWTRTW started! I couldn't believe that I was in the middle of such an event, something I had dreamed about and finally it was happening.
The set list after this was; Secret World, Floating Down The River, Sowing The Seeds, Pale Shelter, Break It Down Again, Woman In Chains, Head Over Heels, Shout. Quite amazing when you consider they were only allotted a 50 minute set time.
Roland and Curt were in fine form, talking in between songs and joking around, they were obviously enjoying themselves.
I had only two wishes in this set... to hear Woman In Chains... and Break It Down Again. I was hopeful they would play 'Woman in chains' but I swear when the opening bars of 'Break it down again' started, I nearly peed my pants! I hugged my friend and was jumping up and down!! "HERE WE GO!" It was a dream come true and totally unexpected!
Michael Wainwright was amazing, and got a HUGE roar from the crowd after his first lines in 'Woman'. I actually had tears streaming down my face the whole song. For 20 years this has been my number 1 TFF song, I was in awe to hear it live.
I had sung myself hoarse after the very first song, I've never enjoyed a gig in Australia like I did this. (my voice is just coming back now...two days later)
Tears For Fears absolutely rocked the stadium. Afterward I spoke to anyone wearing a TFF t-shirt and every single person said the same thing, we all HOPE that they do a headlining tour here.
I was so proud to be a Tears For Fears fan that night, so proud of Roland and Curt, it was UNBELIEVABLE!!! My friend has not stopped talking about the gig, she is won over!
If anybody here (Gruno?) could pass on my thanks to Roland and Curt for a night I will never forget it would be greatly appreciated. PLEASE TOUR AUSTRALIA AGAIN!!

If you've read this far, thank you too!
Everything is possible when you're sowing the seeds of love.

Andy.

OMG, I am so so glad I have finally got to see you play in Melbourne on Wednesday night. You were awesome and the songs brought back so many memories. Curt you just seemed so relaxed onstage and enjoying yourself, talking about running around 'the tan', you fit thing - well you look it to, you gorgeous thing! You blew me away, your voice is so fab. If only you could have played heaps longer, but loved all the songs you played with Roland. Please come back and play soon, don't make it another 25 years with TFF. Enjoy the rest of Australia.xx

Thank you very much Curt, Roland & band for a wonderful, but short, set last night in Melbourne! I have waited a long time to finally see Tears For Fears in concert and you did not dissapoint! Fantastic set, wondeful spirit and energy and a true sense you were pleased to be here in our wonderful city. Would absolutely love for the band to return on their own playing a full set...there were so many classics to play! Really wished to hear Change...next time then?

Thanks again for a wonderful night out and like many in Melbourne, hope to see you again real soon (not 25 yrs!). All the best on the rest of the tour!

Rob, Melbourne, Australia

I think it would be great to see Curt on a solo tour... I'll be in it for sure!
I love Curt♥

Can't wait for Weds in Melbourne its been 25 years since last time, please tour on youre own again! In Australia Everbody is only comming to see you guys Also please release albums & songs here as well.

I wanted to have a succesful rock band but I'm just about too old to keep trying. I have a kid on the way and when you're old enough to be your target audience's parents it's pretty much over.

So I'm curious about the logistics of a tour in Australia. Would Roland and Curt fly there on the same plane or seperate? How about the band mates? How does their equipment get there? Does family go along for the ride? Do they stay in five star hotels or do they go economy? How much free time is there for fun and what would you do for fun?

oh my goodness im so stupid. sorry, obviously it is confirmed otherwise it wouldnt be on this website. still everyone should comment.

great!!!! i will be there with lots of friends. looking forward to it. could everyone comment so they know how much people are looking forward to it because everyone is talking about it its just that no-one makes the effort to get on the net and comment about it because i know its not yet confirmed so please everyone comment, i would be shattered if it didn't happen.
