........time flies.......... Yeah Allison!! I can't believe it's been a month already, and to us KOOKs, the whole TFF 2009 Summer Event might just linger pretty much longer than the MJ fuzz!!! KIM, I guess we should pop a bottle of wine!! :D

Was this really a month ago?!! Funny how...

So curt, would you agree it was a successful tour? I know us fans are thrilled! The Vegas show was amazing...still basking in that. And Curt, thanks so much again for taking the time to meet with us after. I can't get enough of seeing you, and Roly for that matter. You are the best and i'll see you again, suzanne to! Much love~Kim

Mad World Live

I must tell you Curt this is the way that you should perform Mad World. Not that I ever had anything against the slower version of this song but this is perfect the way that it's being performed right here with nothing to detract from the "madness" that's intended for the song.
I was kind of expecting that Roland would start the little dance that he did in the video but sadly that didn't appear to be happening. Someone on You Tube told me that he started dancing during Billie Jean? :) I would have loved to see that. ;)

I just think we should let Roland and Curt bask in the glory of their triumphant and wildly successful tour! As fans, we always want "more more!" But to show our gratitude and respect right now would be the best comments and compliments we could possibly give to them right now. A job well done and well received. I know that's what makes it all worth it for them in the end. More kudos and bravos! No need to jump the gun on their next plans...it's up to them. And they deserve those holidays! (Maybe Roland will be chill-laxin on his boat in St. Tropez? ;)
Just sayin'!

Well, you know what they say Traci? Patience is a virtue. But I'm not the most patient person in the world. I hope that Curt would take the time to relax and have fun with his family before continuing to work.
If they do come out east then it will be a great opportunity to travel. I just hope that I can keep my mouth shut to my cousin about it between now and the time that it happens to avoid any ugliness. I'm just so fustrated that I haven't been able to go and see them because they haven't been anywhere too close to my home. :p At least not yet. I don't mind if I have to travel to go and see them but at the same time I think I should be a little bit closer to home.

Hi Allison,
You know I was just thinking the same thing - seriously I was... You're def right about "giving mad props and being grateful". I was not @ the meet & greets, but I did have a blast at the concert here in AZ. I only wanted to let some peeps/KOOKs know if or when needed for now... I'm ready and willing to pitch in. To feel free to ask me and I would not just B pleased as punch but I really like doing that kind of stuff. It's my way of giving back. Not that I/we should assume any shows R coming up very soon - other than what Papa has stated. I'm patient person ^_^ Curt may get tired of me saying it... I do and always thank him for his site, music, TFF and his family for sharing his life, interests, mind, and what is important to him. I just think that is great that Curt and Roland give back to the fans. WOW!!! Thanks A Bunch. I mean no harm or to hurt feelings. It was just a thought that paased through brain too, that's all. Papa Smith contiue to relax and have a peachy day/night.

One thing about TFF that I absolutely adore is how they involve family members in their work.....how the kids of the band members are invited onstage to sing "Shout". What an experience that must be...to be on stage with Dad to sing in front of hundreds of people cheering and clapping. I think that is so very cool and down to earth. They know what is important....family.

Makes me admire TFF even more.

I don't talk to Curt too personal about everything, only about shows and gigs, and musician stuff. But you are right timelessgirl, proximity does help, with him being an Angelenio, (a Los Angeles local resident). Well let's just hope they don't plan it in Europe, other wise KOOKs like me would be screwed, not being able to afford and go! YIKES!!! LOL And we know how much tickets to Europe cost in the summer. Vegas I was able to do because it only cost me 300 bucks all together. Very good deal to be able to experience TFF, Vegas, and Grand Canyon in Arizona all in 3 days!! And the blog is on "Home and Away." Check it.

Oh, and I think we should give Rol and Curt some mad props for the incredible tour they just produced for us...they will probably tour again...but we could let them chill a bit for now. We shouldn't demand too much, just gotta respect that they did these shows at all! I just want to really thank them for doing this tour out of the goodness of their hearts and for the love of their fans. We really should stop for a moment and really be grateful for that.
Seriously, no harm intended at all, it was just what I was thinking about after reading the latest comments. 'Tis all. I would also be all for another tour, too, absolutely. But all in good time, you know? I just feel they still deserve their cheers and gratitude for right now!
:)

I loved the outdoor concerts! (Vegas and SD) They were very magical, and I just loved the atmosphere. I def love the outdoor venues...they are just so free and uplifting! I do like indoor shows, too. When I saw No Doubt at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC in '03, it was incredibly awesome. I also like seeing stuff at MSG.

Jazz this is the best bit of information I could hear! Even a smidgen of a chance is better then no chance at all right? Thanks for your continued optimism about an east coast tour. I believe if anybody (Kook - wise) would possibly know what was coming down the pike in the future it would be you as you seem close to Curt in proximity (ie The Standard etc) and have spoken to him personally many times. I must have missed Curt's blog about it. Please keep sending those positive vibes across the country! All we can do is hope!

Just throwing out some ideas to Curt, timelessgirl. :) But who knows, Curt does have a say on this. I understand trips and vacations period, include spending, and can sometimes can be expensive. However, I have a feeling the next tour is likely to happen in the East Coast. I got quite exited when he already blogged about a next tour likely to happen. And he did mention it to us during the Vegas meet and greet.

Wow Jazz that would certainly be a dream of a lifetime for me...Hawaii and TFF...together...I'd just have to sell off a couple of my kids to go! Please you all, I am JUST KIDDING!!! ...Plus I don't think I'd have many takers, they're kind of high maintenance!! :\

Hey Curt, what about a TFF gig in Hawaii? TFF has tons of Fans in the Islands!! Something to think about for TFF next tour playing at the pacific tropics. Good venue would be the Waikiki Shell. Outdoorsy and definitely a nice view by the beach. Or Ko'olina resort in Kapole'i. Gives me an excuse to visit back home. Hehehehe. And maybe have your kids experience some Aloha from the islands. Learn Hula dancing or something. :D

Even though Toronto has some pretty decent outdoor venues I'd rather be indoors where the environment is a little more controlled.

But other than that I don't really have a preference since they probably won't come up here anytime soon. :( I hate to be an incurable pessimist but that's my opinion.

Oops, sorry, I forgot to add - there is a great smaller outdoor venue here in Northern Virginia( kind of in the country with beautiful trees encircling) called Wolf Trap. It gives such a personalized experience and you can bring a bottle of wine and some cheese and sit on a blanket if you want under the stars and really enjoy. This would be a dream come true if Curt and Roland were to play here.....What do you think Arlene...could you pass the word along???

Great question...but I wouldn't mind if they did a layover show on the tarmac at DC 's Reagan International Airport on their way to England....it really wouldn't matter and I have no right to be choosey at this point. Just seeing TFF live would be a priviledge (can you tell Arlene I'm literally on hands and knees just begging for them some day soon to come close enough east so I can see them!) I'll show up wherever they decide to perform!

YAY!!!! Thanks Arlene (^_^) and Carolyn... Good question!!!!

Outdoors leading the polls ladies and gentlemen! Cast your votes!!!

Thanks, Arlene! I've always been curious about what peoples' preferences are when it comes to this.

We made the indoor/outdoor poll official, just for fun. Head on over to the Fans page and cast your vote!

I'll throw my vote in the hat too. I like both outside/inside concerts. I think it would be great to see TFF outside. You do have more room to move and dance with outside concerts. If I had to pick I perfer outside over inside, Carolyn that makes sense... to me too!! I have to admit I like indoors too, I guess it depends the band and the mood I'm in at that time. I hope to get to see Rob Thomas and Jason Maraz soon. They are coming this month to Tempe, AZ @ the beach. It's hot here but they perfom @ night that will be neat. This will be my 2nd time seeing Rob Thomas solo and once w/Matchbox 20. 1st time seeing Jason Maraz. Rob Thomas/ Matchbox 20 puts on a good show.

I agree with you, Jazz. I love GA and the outdoor venues......so much freedom to get up and dance and sing. For me the indoor venues are so restrictive. Plus, I am more comfortable outside........it is my church (don't know if that makes any sense to anyone but me).

Out door Carolyn, definitely out door!!! And GA gives us more freedom. Only sit down concert I would really see are jazz gigs.

I'd like to take an informal poll here, I'm just curious.

Would you rather see TFF perform at an outdoor venue or an indoor venue?

I adore the outdoor venues.

For some reason, I think that TFF shines the brightest when outdoors.

JMHO.

Carolyn

I

Driving to Vegas for TFF gig $180.

TFF hotel room and Tix $115.

Getting to hang with the Curt and Roland and meeting new Kooks and new Friends, Priceless!

There are some things money can't buy.

For everything else, there's stolen Master Card and bounced checks! :D LOL

Hi webwezal,
I am doing pretty super terrific lately! Life has been very kind! I had the trip of a lifetime :)

Hey Allison,
How are you? How's life treating you? I second that about wanting a copy of "Billie Jean". I love how they did the song too. I would love to share that song with my sister. Anywho, you made a good point. Please Please Papa S. can we get the download???
