I figured out what songs they played in Woodlinville and then saw Chris' very detailed play by play under the Portland concert. Those are the same songs I remember and the order seems the same as well. (Thanks Chris!)
The only thing I'll add is that the version of Memories Fade included a static sound--like you were changing a channel on an old tv set or radio--akin to Kanye West's "Coldest Winter" (which is based on Memories Fade).

Hi-
Back home today after going to Woodinville show. I am going to sit down tonight and try to remember each song that was played. Won't be able to tell you all the exact order but I'll do my best.
Personally, I was thrilled with the setlist. Of course, I would love to hear...well, pretty much everything... but, I certainly didn't expect to hear Memories Fade or Woman In Chains. Great surprises. Playing the original version of Mad World was really cool too. Love the "modern" version but it felt like a good time for a shake-up.

PS: Does anyone know of any articles / pictures from this show?
Anything similar to the Portland coverage? I haven't found anything online.
Thanks

I guess he did Allison!!! I wonder if he's opening for the whole tour. I would love to see Cannibal Corpse open for Tears for Fears!! YEAH RIIIIIGHT!!! JK LOL!!! That would be insane!!!! But that band Disturbed did a version remake of SHOUT! So we got Metalheads who know and pay respect to good TFF Music!!!

wait hold up....the guy Wainwright sang on Woman in Chains? Really?! He sang the female part?!?

please not too much ELAHE......(don't kill me)

Cool TFF r off and running. Lucky KOOKs out there.

Memories Fade???? Wow... wow! Would I just love to hear Roland sing this...one of my all time favorites from TFF. I guess only in my dreams, sigh. Would love to have some of the concert visual imagery to add to my dreams. Does Curt have on one of his really cool unique T's and Roland with another vintage army jacket or have they opted for a more sophisticated button down like Roland was wearing during rehearsals? Boy, being unable to attend these concerts is really causing me to relive those childhood feelings of wanting something really bad that I can't have. If I wasn't sitting here with my 9 year old daughter I would rather enjoy throwing a full blown temper tantrum on the floor! ...it did seem to make me feel better when I was around 6 if I recall.

Memories Fade...OMG, wish I was there!!!
Donna

that's just awesome that Roland was even singing that!

It was a sound check, so I don't know if it is official.....just reporting what I heard on Twitter. :)

Memories Fade?! Siiick!

Don't know about the official set list, but from some Twitter updates during the sound check...they heard "Seven Of Sundays", "Memories Fade", "Ladybird", "Everybody Wants To Rule The World", "Call Me Mellow", and "Secret World".

Hey there concertgoers,
I hope someone posts the setlist for us unlucky folks. Really interested to see what they'll include this go-around. Have fun!
Thanks!
Bobby

Have a kick @$$ (I try to keep it Rated G) show tonight Curt!!! LOL

Although you other fans of this site might not be familiar with me as I never post, but shyly watch from the corner, the music of TFF is who I AM.
Break a leg tonight! I envy all who can attend. Curt, play the west coast again someday, please?? My heart flutters at just the THOUGHT of a solo or TFF show in Atlanta.

Good luck on the first show tonight, Roland, Curt, and the whole bunch!!!

If Wainwright needs a female singer, doesn't that Afton lady sing? Just a thought :)

I just received my first ever TFF tickets!
I've been a fan for 24 years, but I've never seen them play (& never thought I would).

I'm really so, so happy.

triumviratethree -- very very funny! BTW the Wiggles concert was pretty laid back about photos etc =)

Gruno - Thanks for your experience & and for giving us some insight! Always appreciated to hear the 'inside story' !

I took pictures at the 2007 Vegas show, but I didn't use any flash at all because I was told flashes are distracting to the band. As a result, none of my pictures came out, but that was just fine with me. I knew that I hadn't contributed to the multitudes of flashes going off in the eyes of the band. Besides, I have my memories, which, at least in my case, are more powerful then any picture could ever be.

I've never been on stage, looking out at flashes going off all over the place, but I would imagine that it would be uncomfortable and distracting.

Just my two pennies.....

Carolyn

If I may interject something... I'll let you guys in on some of the policies that we have incorporated in the past.

First and foremost, whatever the venue policy is regarding cameras is what takes precedent. If the venue has a NO CAMERA policy, then there is nothing a band can do as that is the contract/rules of the venue.

I meet with head of security during the day at each venue and we go over certain policies. If they allow cameras then our policy in the past has been that small cameras are fine WITHOUT flash. No "pro" cameras. Pro cameras to be defined as any camera with a detachable lens, 35mm, etc. There are some smaller cameras with pro features that are questionable. If you have a question about your camera, ask security if that type of camera is allowed. If they allow you to take photos and, for some reason, ask you to then stop taking pictures, please follow their direction. Also there is to be no video, no audio recording.

We also ask that there be no excessive use of cameras. What that means is snap a few pictures and there ya go. Those who continue to take picture after picture the entire show are sometimes asked (by security) to refrain from further photography. If the attendee does not adhere to this request, security usually confiscates the camera to be redeemed after the performance. Sometimes media is erased or the film confiscated. There are a few reasons for this. One being that performers in general want to look out into the crowd and see people enjoying their music. What happens when a performer looks out and sees a flood of cameras and no eyes... just black or silver cameras staring at them? Might feel a little disconnected. Another reason is that holding a camera up does obstruct another persons view. There are more reasons but those are just a couple of examples.

Also, if someone has an official press/photo pass for the show, please let them do their job. Usually they are stationed in the front of the stage and policy dictates they only shoot during the first three songs. Most of the time these photographers are from media outlets who are covering the concert. They have a job to do and any obstruction will hinder their performance.

We haven't had too many problems with camera policy. Sure, there have been incidents but not many difficult ones. There can be a very pleasant balance with experiencing the concert performance and capturing it with a camera. Find that medium ground and please do not abuse it. The band wants you to enjoy the performance first and foremost.

Hi Yara! Hello to all of you musing on this fascinating topic...mind if I weigh in?

It seems like there's lots of good feeling here, and I would add that Curt was EXTREMELY kind to allow my sweetie and I to snap a couple of shots (with an old-school disposable, since we don't do digicams) at the Cactus gig on the 11th, where we were about twenty-five feet from his cold-afflicted eyeballs. If he was bothered by it (and we took as few pictures as this very excited fan could), he was kind enough not to mention it. I'd say the venue needs to ask the individual artists - while a random band might strenuously object to cameras sullying their glamourous retinas, a band like TFF who has a wide and diverse following might be only TOO glad to allow fans to snap away from a distance. Cameras aren't your real memories, of course, but they do let you share the interesting times of your life to those you love (or those who will sit still :) ). I wouldn't suggest breaking the venue's rules and being the person that you don't like when they're next to you doing the same thing, but still...it doesn't change the fact that the rule is perhaps not appropriate when applied as a large, wet blanket to all performers and performances. :(

And secretly - I knew those cursed Backyardigans were trouble from the moment I saw them. They've probably been hanging out backstage after a late-night bender with the Wiggles and couldn't find their back yard if it came up and bit them in the :) And why do dinosaurs need security anyway? Couldn't they just attack and consume any fans they found to be objectionable in spirit, but delicious in taste? LOL

Love to all - SS

The worst no photos policy I ever dealt with was when I took my 4yr old daughter to a Backyardigans Live show. I was taking a photo during intermission of my daughter with the stage behind her and security was all over me. The show wasn't even in progress. It was quite bizarre!

Curt -- How do you feel about fans taking a few photos during concerts??

Yara

Celeste, you misunderstood me. I was in no way being nasty to you, and I'm sorry you took it that way. I was simply warning you that you will lose your camera if you try to take pictures. I've seen it happen. I hope you have a great time at the show. And you don't need pictures in order to have memories. We seem to have forgotten that in this digital age. If you experienced it, you'll have the memories, whether you have a picture or not.

Celeste,

I don't think Jenny's comment was directed at you..........it was probably directed at me, so no worries. :)

Carolyn

Then I'd take it that it's probably NOT worth it to me to sacrifice a very expensive digital camera because I want to have a lot of good memories?

Jenny there's no need to be nasty with me; I did say that I wouldn't "intentionally" break the rules! I don't have any ill-intent in me.

Can I just say this? I wish that regardless of differences in opinion in discussions that we've had here, everyone would just leave the differences there and not snipe at each other. I'm not saying we all have to like each other, just be civil. If we chase people away, then discussions get boring. Just sayin...

It's ok, Suzanne, I'm used to it.

I'm glad you participate too. :)

Carolyn

Wow, Jenny, that's a rather not nice thing to say to Carolyn...

Carolyn - welcome back. We may not always see eye to eye, but I'm glad you participate :)
