Have Your Say
As requested on various other threads, we'll treat this blog post as an "open" page on which you can comment about (almost) anything that takes your fancy.
All I ask is that, as ever, everyone plays nicely and respects others. If I feel that a given comment is inappropriate or out of line, it will be deleted (along with any comments that are in response to it - that's just the way the site architecture works around here).
That being said, have at it.

PS Before you ask, I intentionally don't have a message board on my site. They're a bother to maintain/administer, and the conversation can veer toward topics already and better served by forums elsewhere on the interwebs.

I remember Jade, Traci. I was listening to their song “Looking for Mr. Do Right” just a couple of days ago. They were only around for a hot minute but, they were pretty good. I wouldn’t feel bad, though. As long as you’re still breathing, you’ll always have a chance at your fifteen minutes.
Carolyn, Agree with ya both...
Don't know if anybody remembers a group called "Jade". I had a chance to be a part of this group when I was a teen. I was approached twice at 15 & 17 for the same group.. Back then I barely weighed a 100 pounds with wet clothes on. I told my parents about the producer, group & that I was assigned a mentor. My parents wouldn't let me join. I guess that was fine... seeing the alter ego I would portray was "innocent or baby" because I was the youngest & had not kissd a boy. Tho, I wouldn't look that innocent. Maybe at that time my parents did the right thing...
Years later the group changed some of it's direction, images (not much) & they hit the airwaves. When I saw the videos & heard the songs I screamed & was mad at my parents, sort of. I had moved on to other things in life. Not sure how things would have turned out if I was in the group. Due to me being very shy... the producer wanted to play on my shyness. Some the videos wasn't bad, because they wore a lil' more clothes & concentrated on the singing too. At the time they were becoming popular, I was 21yrs, started studying the bible & became a Christian.
The group lasted only in the '90's & they didn't have many hits. One of their biggest hits was... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZ9HG0nGe-g - A few people might remember this song. Oh well, I didn't get my 15 minutes of fame but Suzaane will during TFF sumer tour. That is beyond priceless, it's >> "superfragilisticexpialidocious". say that tree times.

My opinion concerning the 16 year old girl that was allowed to attempt to sail around the world in a boat BY HERSELF..........
I am glad that Abby is safe. But her parents are idiots. In my opinion they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of any child neglect/abuse law on the books. Abby is 16 years old........she has only been alive on this Earth for 16 years. She may be a great sailor, but she is still 16 years old. Would her parents have allowed her to go live in a war zone for 4 months.........just because she wanted to? Would her parents have allowed her to swim in the Amazon River for 4 months just because she wanted to? Would her parents have allowed her to spend 4 months at the North or South Pole, just because she wanted to? Abby may be a strong, capable girl, but she is STILL a girl. Her parents are morons. When I was 16 years old, I wanted to get my own apartment, but wisely, my parents did not allow me to do so. I also wanted to go live in a treehouse in Yellowstone Park...they did not encourage that idea either. When I was 16, I thought I was all grown up and that I knew sooooo much more then any adult ever knew. Guess what? I didn't, and I'm glad my parents had the wisdom to know that I WAS ONLY 16 YEARS OLD. All children have dreams............but that does not mean that RESPONSIBLE parents indulge every dream their children have. At one time in my CHILDHOOD, I wanted to be Catwoman. Not realistic, AND ALLOWING A 16 YEAR OLD GIRL TO SAIL AROUND THE WORLD ALONE IS ALSO NOT REALISTIC!!!! Abby's parents need to fall to their knees and thank the Gods and Goddess's that their child is safe. But I guess they got what they wanted.......media attention, and a possible book and movie deal. This child's parents are exploiting their daughter for their own gain. Abby's parent's should be ashamed, and prosecuted for child neglect.

This guy has some moves Jamie ought to consider!!! XD
Here is a link to the video and song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWBG1j_flrg
Seriously, this band is good.
I was on my way to work this morning and heard a song on the radio by a band called Broken Bells. The song was "The High Road". I loved the song, so I went to their webpage. Listened to "The Ghost Inside" and liked this band even more. I especially enjoyed the video of "The High Road", reminds me of the good ole days of MTV videos. Website is www.brokenbells.com for anyone that is interested. (on the home page, move your cursor around and play with the big pink ball....it is amusing while you are listening to the music.)
Anyway, just wanted to share.

Trinity, it's good to hear from you. Great picture. Now I'm smiling and needed a good pick me up!! Hope things are well with you and school.
Jazzy, way cool, you got a chance to travel around the boys stomping grounds.

grrrr!! still getting strange txt msg from people. I have been deleting them. I talked to my cell phone carrier and they said they can't do much. I might turn my phone off for while. It has become a big headache now.... Odd thing my hubby doesn't get the txt I get. Well, I have been using my blackberry for just about anything I can do on the net.
A few months back I did enter a bogus contest via twitter and since then I have been getting some of the oddest txt. Some txt looks legit and some are very obvious they are not. I do respond to those that I think are real but for the most part I delete right away. Some do have numbers that I can call but most do not have numbers tho, they will have a number sometimes for me to call back within the txt msg. Then that turns into just another bogus lead to get more of my information or just a hoax. One of the most scariest txt msg I got was a person telling me they were on the death bed... no kidding. It was late night and I heard my cell phone. Looked at it and saw the msg... "help me I need you. I'm dying and have no one with me". There's more but since then I have deleted it. Didn't take long for me to know it was not anyone we knew. But man my body went cold when I saw the msg at first. What's is going on with people to send that kind of stuff??
On the other hand, I almost deleted my nephew's txt the other day. My nephew does not txt me much. We mainly talk on the phone. I got 5 back to back long txt that did not seem right. Reason being it looked more like a forward msg thing.... you know how those go. A friend sends something to everyone they know. I don't like those and have told my friends not to do that. I don't mind some forward msg because some of them are cool, also that might be the only way to share info or to let everyone know what's going on in your world. I can understand that. But my nephew's msg wasn't that either. It was just a strange txt. I was able to check it out by chance which is how I knew it was my nephew. I called him and he told me that he was thinking of me when his dad sent him the same txt msg he sent me.... and that was fine. I don't wish to turn off my phone but maybe that's all I can do for now. I have not made up my mind yet. My carrier told me it's a lil' hard to track where they are coming from because I entered the bogus contest and I use the net like Twitter, FB, hotmail and so on through my phone. - This tech stuff can turn on you if we don't watch it, bummer. Had to vent.
Thanks for having this page to where we can express what's on our brain.
Have a great tour Papa S :-) Looking forward to the summer.

Curt,
I'm thinking you should start another blog.......
Maybe title it, "Do you think I am a racist or not?"
I'm still miffed that anyone would take your words and twist them. They don't know you. A sentence that you speak to a fellow band member during a concert does not define you.
Sorry, I'm upset that some would dare to think that you are anything but the most tolerant and accepting person ever.
Carolyn
Oh, but of course.... :-) I gave him a birthday wish on FB. I saw that you did too. He's singing the national anthem at the Ice Dogs game. Neat birthday for MW...
nice puppy Suzanne, enjoy the fun of ownership and training :)

According to Curt's tweets he's roaming around SF approximately 3 blocks from where I was all day!
Love the Moma--- Occasionally we take the short walk with our team and we all get a chance to soak in art and architecture. Our favorite remedy for creative doldrums : )
Have fun Curt--- SF loves ya!
Curt, years ago you said you thought Gary Jules did your own song better than you (and Roland) did.
His version of "Mad World" popped up on my Zune's shuffle today, and I'd like to say....well....considering the brilliant return to its original form at this past summer's shows, I think you guys remade his track better than he remade yours.
:]

I tried to go back and edit to fix the picture, but it won't let me. This one worked! there are more pics on my facebook.
Hope for the hopeless, prayer, faith without anger. We can change the world...
