Have Your Say

As requested on various other threads, we'll treat this blog post as an "open" page on which you can comment about (almost) anything that takes your fancy.

All I ask is that, as ever, everyone plays nicely and respects others. If I feel that a given comment is inappropriate or out of line, it will be deleted (along with any comments that are in response to it - that's just the way the site architecture works around here).

That being said, have at it.

PS Before you ask, I intentionally don't have a message board on my site. They're a bother to maintain/administer, and the conversation can veer toward topics already and better served by forums elsewhere on the interwebs.

Oh, but of course.... :-) I gave him a birthday wish on FB. I saw that you did too. He's singing the national anthem at the Ice Dogs game. Neat birthday for MW...

According to Curt's tweets he's roaming around SF approximately 3 blocks from where I was all day!
Love the Moma--- Occasionally we take the short walk with our team and we all get a chance to soak in art and architecture. Our favorite remedy for creative doldrums : )
Have fun Curt--- SF loves ya!

Curt, years ago you said you thought Gary Jules did your own song better than you (and Roland) did.

His version of "Mad World" popped up on my Zune's shuffle today, and I'd like to say....well....considering the brilliant return to its original form at this past summer's shows, I think you guys remade his track better than he remade yours.
:]

Hey Curt, just joined the ranks of dog owning America! Her name is Lizzy and she's a 7 week old English Setter. Think Bella would like her?

i miss you too

life is hard

boo, the colts should have won

Seriously, I think Curt, you would make a great addition to the panel of Judges on American Idol! Pretty much all the TFF CD's sums up your resume Curt!

See this is what I was just sayin'. I turned on my player (it's on random play. I think I have about 2000 songs on my BlackBerry). The first song I hear is "Woman In Chains". I'm lost into this song. mmmm.... hearing that slap bass kills me at the start of the song and holds on to me throughout the song. And the vocals are well, beyond great. All three of them cemented this song like no other. A very deep and haunting song.

"It's under my skin but out of my hands
I'll tear it apart but I won't understand
I will not accept the Greatness of Man
It's a world gone crazy"

Thanks as always Papa S. :-)

I know I may drive some of my friends nutz because I love TFF so much. I think they have written me off as having temporary insanity haha. When I hear some of my favorite tunes by TFF (ok any TFF song), while out in public and I can't cut loose the way I want, *I'm jammin' on the inside*. Then, there are times when I can't control myself and I start dancing or take a chill moment on the slower tunes. I have a few friends that get it and join in with me to dance, funny... I can make a fool of myself.

My friend Tima, coughs *wenie* cos she's in the Air Force has become a big fan (I just got finished talking to her). She wants to go to a TFF concert so badly. Curt she has a crush on you. Oh, she is so going to kill me for telling you that. Sometimes we will be on the phone and will be watching TFF videos on YT ( I know it's sad) lol. But hey, that's how things go when you're in the military and your battle buddies are away.

While in my car and I'm not driving, then... I'm the best *car seat dancer around* from my imaginary bass playing to poppin' and lockin' in the seat. See Curt, what you have done to us?? Is there any medicine we can take for this *TFF Madness*?? That's why I say "TFF, More Than An Addiction".

No, I feel that way exactly! I just love when they get the recognition on the airwaves for all to hear - it is gratifying!

Yep, when I hear a TFF song on the radio, I feel like it is MY music and the world is finally getting to hear it. Even tho I've heard those songs thousands of times before, when I hear them on the airwaves, available to all, it is just a thrill. It's kinda like a validation....

Good to know that I am not the only crazy person that thinks that way.

Carolyn, I absolutely know what you mean...When I hear any TFF music from the radio or anywhere else, I just smile and sing along. I feel like it is a very personal moment for me (and I know that must sound nuts!), and I enjoy it to the fullest. It's like it is MY music being honored or something...
Donna

Landru, odd coincidence then. TFF must be a wonderful inspiration for you when you create music!
Risë

Landru, I'm at City Walk quite often and one night I stopped dead in my tracks because HOH was playing on the screen.........still amazing.

I was at the Universal Citywalk recently and SOTSOL was playing over the Citywalk speaker system, complete with the video playing on a jumbotron outside of the Hardrock Cafe - and they have that thing turned up rather loud at all times. I can only imagine what it would be like to be Curt or Roland walking through there, maybe doing some shopping with out-of-towners, and then hear your song come on and your own singing voice blaring throughout the entire place. Pretty awesome?

here's what the place looks like with the big TV on the left (but i didnt take this pic)

rise1931, I'm a musician but I haven't posted any music under the name Landru.

TOTALLY GET IT! When it happens my daughter and I sing at the top of our lungs and my son covers his ears (not because we can't sing, we can, but because he's not a fan). We have 102.7 Jack FM (probably same station) and they play them too on occasion, but sometimes even the top 40 station does too!

Hope the snowstorm isn't too bad. Hoping we don't have anymore this winter! 5 feet in two storms in less than a week is quite enough!

Hope for the hopeless, prayer, faith without anger. We can change the world...

Suzanne Olden

Nope, Carolyn, you're not nuts. Or, I suppose it could be that we both are. :) I was in my car on the way to an appointment one day, got ready to put SOL in my CD player, but didn't because EWTRTW was playing on the radio. There's just something different about it.

Debbie

I will never get over this feeling that I just had. I have this feeling every single time this happens and it still thrills me.

I went to the grocery store a bit ago to stock up for the possible snowstorm that is coming tonight. Did my shopping and loaded the bags in the trunk. Got in the car and turned the key............and guess what was playing on the radio.....105.1 Jack FM (Kansas City)?

HOH. I sat there in the grocery store parking lot until the song was done, didn't want to interrupt it by driving. I sat there in my car, singing at the top of my lungs..........I imagine that anyone that saw me thought I was an odd person. Didn't care.

I have listened to that song thousands of times.... on CD's, my iPod, videos, even when TFF has done it live. But there is just something special about hearing TFF on my car radio.........

Does anyone know what I mean? Or am I nuts?

Carolyn

Landru,

Are you a musician? I just ran across a video by someone with your name. It was great.
Doubt there are many Landru's out there, which, of course, brought you immediately to mind.

Awesome, Carolyn! Glad I could give you a new fav!

Suzanne Olden

Suz,

I visited your friends blog page, very refreshing and interesting. It is now on my fav's list.

Thanks!
